Great Lakes University believes in the infallibility of Scripture, and that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. It is the position of the university that the Bible is the pure and undefiled Word of God. The purpose of Scripture is for doctrine, correction, instruction in righteousness, and the spiritual development of individual believers.

GLU is committed to the plan of salvation as laid out in Holy Scriptures including repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Code of Christian Conduct

It is the policy of Great Lakes University that any activity by students that violates the principles of scripture is considered unacceptable by the university administration. It is the charge of each student to closely adhere to the basic biblical teaching of separation from worldliness and all ungodliness. Students are required to maintain basic biblical, moral and holiness principles of the university. There will be no acceptance for acts considered to be sinful or immoral.

Proper attire is required to attend Great Lakes University. Dress regulations to be followed will be those that are set forth by the ministry of Great Lakes University and the Apostolic Church. Great Lakes University being hosted by the Apostolic Church of Christ will adhere to the Articles of Faith as put forth in the bylaws of the Apostolic Church.

Student and Local Church Responsibilities

All students wishing to attend Great Lakes University must be in good standing of a local church to attend.

Students will attend Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening services of the Apostolic Church. In addition, students will attend the weekly worship service of Great Lakes University each Friday evening.

University Covenant

  • Great Lakes University is committed to provide its students with a safe and peaceful environment in which to pursue their educational goals.
  • Great Lakes University students have the right to equality regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, or disability.
  • No disciplinary action can be taken against a student without notice of the nature and cause of the charges, in addition, all students will have the right to appeal disciplinary decisions including confronting witnesses against him or her and the assistance of a person of his or her choosing.
  • The administration, faculty, and staff of Great Lakes University commits to truth, righteousness, and the pursuit of God. As a university we will commit to living moral and holy lives before God and our students.
  • The right of a student to the ethical expression of opinion, the Christian exercise of personal liberties, and the freedom of inquiry shall not be denied.
  • Students at Great Lakes University have the right of privacy no searches will be conducted without the suspicion/probability of wrongdoing.
  • Students will have the right to petition the University administration and the Student Government
  • Great Lakes University is committed to the principles of scriptures including the oneness of the Godhead, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Great Lakes University covenants with its students that we will do our utmost to provide you the training, education, and experiences you need to be successful academically, professionally, and spiritually.
