You could be counted as a pioneer of
the first, selective, comprehensive liberal arts Apostolic
university. Great Lakes University is very different
from secular universities and traditional Bible colleges.
Unlike secular universities in that we care for our
students and facilitate growth not only in academics
but also in their social skills, and spiritual relationship
with Jesus Christ. We are different from Bible schools
in that we offer Apostolics the opportunity to earn
bachelor’s degrees in
the Arts, Sciences, and Business that are recognized
by the United States Department of Education
and other accredited schools and graduate schools. | |

As a student of GLU you will have access
to some of the leading spirit-filled scholars living
today. You will have your own weekly services, university
pastor, and opportunities to participate in outreach
while you are here, which will serve as an excellent
developmental experience to bless your home church
when you return. GLU students will have the ability
to work while they are here if they choose; GLU is
centrally located in Oakland County, Michigan, which
has many opportunities for employment for our students
while they are here for their education.
Most importantly, you as a student will
be developing along with other Apostolics like yourself,
who love Jesus and want to develop their knowledge,
skills, and future endeavors in an environment focused
on helping you use your talents and God given abilities
to fulfill your purpose of bringing glory to Jesus
Christ. |
"People are rarely influenced by those they consider beneath them in education, society, or culture."

FROM A STUDENT'S PERSPECTIVE
“I came to GLU sight unseen, all I had was a brochure, a few e-mails from the staff, and a handful of faith. With a little uncertainty I started a journey that has begun to lead me down a road of limitless possibilities. Little did I know that God desired more for me than an average college experience. Everyday at GLU I am challenged to grow in my relationship with Jesus, encouraged to strive to do my best in my classes, and reach for those experiences and dreams that I may think impossible. GLU has exceeded my greatest expectations! -- My goals have continued to expand as I learn that God has more for me than I could ever have imagined, because with Him, all things are possible. Why settle for less!”
~Bethany Rehberg, AK~
“After enrolling in the Business program, I found that I was able to handle four college classes in a ten-week quarter with some extra effort and the love and support of my spouse. These online classes are helping me to complete my degree faster and it is empowering me to fulfill God's calling in my life.”
~Matthew Legere, CT~
"Dr. O'Daniel, I just want you to know that I thoroughly enjoy this class (Philosophy & Ethics) and attending GLU. This is my second semester here and I have never enjoyed going to school so much. It is really a joy and a blessing to take classes with students, professors and a curriculum that is Apostolic. I have attended secular colleges and it is so refreshing to be able to speak what I believe and know that I will not get "marked down" because of it. This class in particular is very necessary to explore the philosophies of the world today and give Apostolic students a proper perspective.“
~ Joshua Knapp, MI~
“Through lots of prayer and guidance, the Lord nudged me to GLU. I have never been so confident in making such a huge life-changing decision. God is providing me with an opportunity to develop my love for music. Not only am I being equipped to become a music teacher, I am also being prepped for ministry. It can only be through GLU that I am experiencing the best of both worlds – ‘Academic Excellence in an Apostolic Environment.’ I dare you to find that elsewhere.”
~Katie Jackson, MI~
“When I found out about GLU, I was very excited. Coming here allows me to pursue my calling to the ministry by majoring in Religious Studies. Now that school has started, I am even more excited to be here. All of my classes are off to a great start. Everyone at the church has been wonderful in making me feel welcome. I am very much looking forward to my next two years here at GLU.”
~Donald Ayers, AK~
